Introducing April’s Lucky Cat Cafe pin - Melon Pan! Melon pan is a popular Japanese sweet bread with a soft, fluffy interior and a crunchy cookie-like crust. The crust usually resembles a melon’s rind from the criss-cross pattern scored on top, thus the name “melon” pan! Traditionally, it doesn’t contain melon, but modern variations often add melon flavoring, chocolate, or fillings like custard and bean paste. It’s commonly found in Japanese bakeries and convenience stores and is very similar to Mexican conchas and Hong Kong Pineapple buns!
